When you need it.

A few adventures to write about this week….

Sunday, I ran the Grand Rapids half-marathon. Nothing spectacular on time, I just wanted to have fun. Best part about this day was simply smiling for all 13.1 miles, making new friends, and just being out there to be out there and have fun.

Monday, I picked up the paperwork for my legal name change, filled it out on Tuesday, and submitted it yesterday. Went in for fingerprinting today, and by Monday, I will submit the fingerprint card, copy of my petition, and $42 to the Michigan State Police.

Wednesday, this is good. Went to Salon Mia Bella… after feeling awful about my looks, it felt good to have Kate run her fingers in my hair while coloring it. Same way I felt with the manicure and pedicure too. Self-care like that is important. By the time I was done, I felt confident again. Gave Kristina a huge hug, and she understood.

Today, though… with the political climate getting worse and worse for trans people, and me feeling tired and run down because of it, I texted Mom Wendy and said that on Tuesday, I wanted to hold her longer and tighter. She responded with a promise: “I have your heart and soul. Always, Amber Marie!” Mom Sara pretty much promised the same thing. . so my heart is protected by Mom.

And Mom friends have reached a special place in my heart… in fact, if I call you Mom, that means you’re pretty special!

Just a 38 year old trans girl roaming around Holland, MI. My old life wasn't as glamorous as my webpage made it look. Transphobic comments will automatically be deleted and you will be blocked.
